Music Ministry
The purposes, goals, and passions of Redeemer's Music Ministries are summed up in a single verse, Psalm 33:3, which says, "Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy."
"Sing to him a new song;..." (Psalm 33:3)
Redeemer’s adult choir gathers to join hearts and voices together in praise to God. We sing everything from Bach and Schutz (the music of our Lutheran heritage) to the contemporary hymns and anthems of current church composers. If you are of high school age or older and you love to sing, then please consider joining us as we raise our voices in praise to our living, loving Lord. No prior experience is necessary - you are always welcome! We practice on Monday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. in the Choir/School Music room from September through May. Please contact Tim Graf, if you are interested or have any questions. (Phone: 952.473.1281 ext. 209; e-mail: redeemermusicguy@gmail.com)
"...play skillfully..." (Psalm 33:3)
Redeemer is blessed to have a beautiful 4 octave set of Schulmerich Handbells and we are even more blessed to have a great group of ringers committed to enhancing our worship through their music making. Another great thing about the Handbell Choir is that it offers anyone the chance to make music, even if you can’t sing or play an instrument! If you love music and would like to join us, please contact Tim Graf at 952.473.1281 ext. 209. No experience is necessary. We practice on Monday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 7:25 p.m. in the church sanctuary (September through May). We also have a need for substitute ringers - if you are interested in helping out on occasion and would like to be trained, please contact Tim Graf. "...and shout for joy." (Psalm 33:3)
JoySound, Redeemer’s contemporary ensemble of vocalists and instrumentalists, provides musical leadership for the contemporary worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays. Contemporary worship which is centered on God’s grace in Christ and reflects the spirit of our Lutheran heritage while still singing “a new song” to God is what we’re all about. JoySound rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. If interested in participating, please contact Tim Graf to arrange for an audition. "Jesus said, Let the little children come to me..."(Luke 18:16)
All Redeemer Church and Day School children in first through fifth grade are invited and encouraged to participate in the Redeemer Kids' Praise Choir. The choir will be held on Tuesdays from 2:50 to 3:40 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, October 3. Together, we will learn some great music, pray together and sing our praises to God. The choir will meet in the church sanctuary. Members of the kids’ choir will be asked to sing at school and church events throughout the year. There is no fee to participate. If you have any questions or would like to register your child, please contact Tim Graf, Kids' Praise Choir director (Phone: 952.473.1281 ext. 209; e-mail: redeemermusicguy@gmail.com).
