Annual Silent and Live Auction
Redeemer’s largest fundraiser is its Annual Silent and Live Auction. This fun and lucrative event, usually held in the spring at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Plymouth, has provided funds to make many improvements to our School and Church, including most recently a brand new computer lab. Funds from the Auction help reduce the amount of annual tuition for every student at Redeemer, and 10% of our proceeds are designated specifically for scholarships. Another 10% is tithed to support Interfaith Outreach Community Partners (IOCP). In addition, the Auction is also one of the favorite social events for our School and Church families because it brings us together to celebrate what God is doing at Redeemer.
An Executive Board assumes responsibility for planning the Auction, but the entire Redeemer family is called upon to help make the event a success. The Auction doesn’t happen without many volunteers giving their time, whether many hours or just a few. The Executive Board currently in place has acquired sufficient experience to organize and streamline volunteer efforts, as well as to provide the volunteers with the tools and training needed to ensure they are well equipped to handle the job.
Volunteer opportunities include procuring auction items, organizing teams of workers, developing the Auction catalog, creating signage, displaying Auction items, monitoring bidding, and checking out successful bidders.
To help make our auction as successful as possible, all Redeemer School and Church families are asked to donate or ask someone they know who has a business to donate an Auction item or service. In addition, School families contribute to theme baskets or special projects to engage our students to be part of the Auction.
Redeemer’s 11th Annual Silent and Live Auction is scheduled for Friday, April 23, 2010, again at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center, 3131 Campus Drive, Plymouth. We’re looking forward to another successful event that brings us together to celebrate and promote God’s ministry at Redeemer!
